Upstate Bohemian Backyard Wedding

Stacey + Andrew tied the knot on a dreamy overcast day in October. Leading up to the wedding, I asked them to describe their day in three words. “Minimalistic bohemian rager” could not have been a more accurate answer. These two crafted every detail with the utmost care, fun, and immaculately curated vibes.

Their intimate backyard celebration was hosted at the Mod House of Ellenville, a gorgeous midcentury lodge built in the 1950s and nestled among the Catskills. Stacey + Andrew were one of the first to be wed on the grounds, and the lodge made for the most unique, bohemian venue with a basement speakeasy to boot.

Their closest family and friends gathered upstate to celebrate these lovers, and honoring Stacey’s mom Michele was an integral part of their day. Michele passed away in spring of 2020, and the legacy she left behind was undeniable. From the day I met Stacey, she told me stories of her mom and her influence that was woven into every part of Stacey’s life.

Their wedding day was no different, and pieces of Michele could be found in every speech, childhood friendship, and unbelievable stroke of luck. Even the disco dance party was kicked off with a ballad of “Stacey’s Mom”, complete with a DJ and zodiac-themed cocktail menu.

Here’s to one of the most heartfelt, fun days I’ve had the pleasure of capturing. All the love to the Stokes!
