Julia + Joe’s wedding is one that will always stick with me. These two were the first couple to book me for their day once I made the move to NYC. More importantly, they are some of the kindest and most genuine people. It was clear at their wedding that everyone else around them felt the same. You could feel just how loved they were.
The two of them got hitched on the stunning property owned by Joe’s dad upstate in the Hudson Valley. It was the most peaceful spot away from the city, and the backyard ceremony set-up was such a perfect fit for the low key vibe of their day.
Julia + Joe’s wedding was intimate, special, and so incredibly sweet. What especially stood out to me were their vows. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they told the story of how they met, fell in love, and intertwined their lives together over the years ever since. My personal favorite detail: these two have been together for so long that Joe actually didn’t have a phone when they first met and would call Julia on an iPad, LOL.
And of course, I can’t forget the most important wedding guest of them all – Tootie, their angel pup who maaay have stolen the show trotting down the aisle in his little custom flower collar (yup, I know). Julie + Joe brought him along for their engagement shoot, and I may have shed a tear when I learned that he’d be making an appearance at the wedding.
The ended with tacos, backyard games, and a performance by Joe’s old band. Julia’s dad joined in with his saxophone, and it was just the most fun lil’ jam sesh ever. I’m so incredibly grateful for these two and all of their kindness and trust while letting me capture their best day ever. And yes, I may have asked them to adopt me at the end of the night. Lots of love for you, J+J!
